In previous level, we have learnt the important basic astrological terms used frequently while analyzing the birth chart. We will continue with some more basic terminologies in this page too along with some explanation related to previous topics such as exaltation points, debilitation points of planets, and particular signs of debilitation & exaltation of planets, so let’s start with the basic level 3.
Important Basic Astrological Terms:
Dosha: Any affliction in horoscope due to malefic combinations of planets in horoscope, then it is considered to be as “Dosha” which signifies bad planetary combination in any horoscope creating obstacles in one’s life. It has the power to reduce the good effects of any benefic planet too if gets influenced by this malefic combination.
Karak or Significator: It signifies the specific areas of life, such as Sun is karak or significator of soul or father in one’s horoscope, Jupiter is Karak or Significator of Progeny etc, so the word Karak represents the natural representation of anything.
Krishna Paksha: The dark half of the month is termed as “Krishna Paksha” or waning Moon. Due to motion of Moon, whole month is divided into two Pakshas i.e Krishna Paksha and Shukla Paksha.
Shukla Paksha: The bright side of the Moon is termed as “Shukla Paksha” or waxing Moon.
Mool Trikona: It is generally a zodiac sign where planet gives its complete results. Mooltrikona is very strong placement of any planet after its exaltation sign.
Vimshottari Dasha: It is a periodic cycle of every planet. Every planet has different cycle of Vimshottari Dasha.
Yoga: Yoga mainly signifies the combination, so it is mainly the combination of two or more planets or combination of planet and zodiac sign. Likewise, there are numerous types of Yogas defined in Vedic astrology and the count will go upto thousands or in Lacs, but here we will do some auspicious and important yogas only used frequently while analysis.

Ruling Planets Of Different Zodiac Signs:
Kaal Purush Kundali: Before understanding to the ruling planets of different zodiac signs, let’s understand first the Kaal Purush Kundali. Capricorn: Capricorn is ruled by the planet “Saturn” and is the natural 10th house of Kaal Purush Kundali representing work & career.
Aquarius: Aquarius is ruled by the planet “Saturn” and is the natural 11th house of Kaal Purush Kundali representing hopes, gains & income.
Pisces: Pisces is ruled by the planet “Jupiter” and is the natural 12th house of Kaal Purush Kundali representing foreign land, expenditures & spirituality.
Exaltation And Debilitation Of Planets:
Every planet get exalted and debilitated in certain sign or certain constellation at certain degrees, so let’s have a look of exaltation & debilitation points of planets in any horoscope:
Sun: Though Sun rules the Leo sign but it gets exalted in Aries and debilitated in Libra (Just opposite to Aries) at 10 degrees. Thus, Sun will provide its extreme good or bad results at 10 degrees in these zodiac signs respectively.
Moon: Moon governs Cancer zodiac sign, but it gets exalted in “Taurus” and debilitated in just opposite to Taurus “Scorpio” at 3 degrees. Thus, the results of Moon will be at max at 3 degrees, be it good or bad in these zodiac signs respectively.
Mars: Mars governs Aries & Scorpio, but it gets exalted in Capricorn and debilitated in Cancer at 28 Degrees. Thus, Mars will provide its extreme good or bad results at 28 degrees in these signs respectively.
Mercury: Mercury rules over Gemini & Virgo. In case of Mercury, it gets exalted in its own sign Virgo and but debilitated in Pisces at 15 degrees. So Mercury will provide complete results at 15 degrees of these zodiac signs.
Venus: Venus owns naturally Taurus and Libra, but it gets exalted in Pisces and debilitated in Virgo at 27 degrees. Thus, Venus will provide its extreme benefic or malefic results at 27 degrees in these signs respectively.
Jupiter: Jupiter governs naturally Sagittarius and Pisces signs, but gets exalted in Cancer and debilitated in Capricorn at 5 degrees, so it will also provide its complete good or bad results at 5 degrees in these zodiacs respectively.
Saturn: Saturn rules over naturally the Capricorn and Aquarius, but it gets exalted in Libra and debilitated in Aries at 20 degrees, so at this degree the results will be at max for Saturn.
Rahu: Rahu doesn’t really get exalted or debilitated but some believe that it is exalted in Taurus & Gemini and gets debilitated in Scorpio and Sagittarius.
Ketu: Ket again doesn’t seem to get exalted or debilitated but some astrologers believe it to be getting exalted in Scorpio and Sagittarius and debilitated in Taurus & Gemini respectively.
Mool Trikone Signs Of Every Planet
Mool Trikone sign is the very strong sign of any planet after its exalted sign. Planets blesses one if get placed in its Mool Trikon rashi or sign. Let’s find below the planet and its corresponding Mool Trikone sign or rashi:
Sun– The Mool Trikone sign of Sun is Leo, where it feels good to provide its complete results.
